Since childhood I have adored cats. All my toys were cats of different sizes and shapes; I made dresses for them, they slept with me and kept me company. Each of them had a name and story. Everything related to cats was at the centre of my attention. I had to pat every cat I passed on the street (and I still do). I could not resist their gentle purrs and miaows, their soft furs and paws, and the sense of mystery they carry. 

A few years ago, I experienced a profound loss after losing my soul cat of 13 years of age. It was the first time when I truly felt deep grief. I realised then how death of companion animal is often marginalised; pets are seen by some as an addition to human existence, rather beloved family members.

My love of cats inspired me to create this shop, and the grief I experienced instilled in me a need to provide support and offer meaningful products to honour the special and unbreakable bond we share with our cats.

At Gentle Purrs, we believe that every moment with your cat is scared — whether it's the first cuddle, a joyful play, a peaceful rest or a heartfelt goodbye. If you just became a cat parent, we're here to support you on that beautiful journey. If you lost your special cat — we see you and feel you.
